Noa Baruch reveals the potential of 3D design simulation in shifting the perspective of the viewer, by visualizing traditional pattern cuttings from an entirely different point of view creating trompe-l'oeil effects through construction and prints.
She was selected for the fashion contest of ITS 2020 with her collection "Future Tailoring".
Her project is based on a comparison between her grandmother’s fifty year-old pattern notebook and contemporary 3D CAD simulation softwares. The issue of dimension and perspective is what mainly captivated her curiosity. While in the notebook she could see every pattern from two sides, the software enabled her to watch the simulation from any point of view. It was fascinating to see how every little detail of the simulation changed according to the angle. This led to the design of her garments: when you look at them frontally they create an illusion of perspective which feels as if you were watching them from different angles.
International Talent Support was launched in 2002 and throughout its history it has developed into the most highly recognized platform to showcase & support the strongest young talents on the planet. Most importantly, it created an ever-growing family supporting creativity, like branches on a tree growing in different directions, yet nurtured by the same roots. It has built an impressive Creative Archive, a unique collection tracing the history of fashion evolution. Many of the over 630 finalists were selected by top fashion brands where they now hold key positions, or have successfully developed their own lines.
